CHAMPS is one of 16 campus support programs for foster youth in the state of Michigan. CHAMPS seeks to increase college access and retention through direct services, outreach, and advocacy efforts and provides wraparound support services to students who have experienced foster care and/or the juvenile justice systems. Our program also works in collaboration with other academic and student support programs at Wayne State University in order to remove any barriers to achieving a bachelors degree. These collaborations include ChampIONS (CHAMPS Institutional Opportunity Network) and points of contacts, in the Wayne State University Offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, Career Services, Student Disability Services, Academic Success Center, APEX Scholars Program, TRiO, Student Advising Center, Campus Health, Office of Multi-Cultural Student Engagement, Warrior VIP, Learning Community, Career Services, Latino/a and Latin American Studies.
